81 Rue Alsace-Lorraine
Pendant longtemps la nouvelle municipalité de Tonnay-Charente suite aux évènements révolutionnaires a été à la recherche d’une « maison commune » de 1791 à 1851. Les premières réunions se sont tenues dans le couvent des Capucins puis dans différentes maisons louées à des particuliers. Sur un terrain bordé par un ruisseau (actuelle rue des Poilus) et acheté en 1845 est construit un bâtiment à fronton et colonnades, sur les plans de l’architecte Le Bouvier, qui sera inauguré le 11 novembre 1849.
The town hall:
Following the Revolution the new local council was for a long time in search of a city hall, from 1791 to 1851; the first meetings were held at the Capuchin convent, then at various places rented to locals. A piece of land running along a stream (currently rue des Poilus) was purchased in 1845 and architect Le Bouvier erected a building with a pediment and colonnades. It was inaugurated in 1849.
Rathaus :
Nach der Revolution, zwischen 1791 und 1851, suchte die neue Stadtgemeinde von Tonnay-Charente ein Gemeindehaus. Die ersten Versammlungen fanden im Kapuzinerkloster statt und später in verschiedenen gemieteten Privathäusern. 1845 wird ein Grundstück am Rande eines Baches erworben ( heute „Rue des Poilus“) und, nach dem Plan des Architekten Le Bouvier, ein Gebäude mit Giebel und Säulengang errichtet. Es wurde am 11. November 1849 eingeweiht.
